About The Position

Glenaire is seeking an experienced and engaging Nursing Assistant Instructor to provide classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction for our Nurse Aide program. This role is ideal for a Registered Nurse who enjoys teaching, mentoring, and helping future nursing assistants develop the skills and confidence needed to provide exceptional care. The Nursing Assistant Instructor will plan, deliver, and evaluate instruction based on the North Carolina NA-I Curriculum while supporting student success throughout the program. The ideal candidate brings strong clinical experience, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to create a positive, professional learning environment for adult learners.

Requirements

  • Current unrestricted license as a registered nurse in the state of North Carolina.
  • A minimum of two (2) calendar years (4000 hours) of work experience in direct patient care as a registered nurse.
  • At least one (1) of the years of direct care experience must be in care of the elderly or chronically ill of any age.
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience in successfully teaching or training adult learners.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and effective oral and written communication/public relation skills.
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to think creatively and put ideas into action.
  • Ability to make presentations to large audiences.
  • Personal integrity, honesty, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent computer skills as evidenced by experience with Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word.
  • Understanding of the mission, goals, and objectives of Glenaire.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction based on the North Carolina NA-I Curriculum.
  • Support student success throughout the program.
  • Teach Nurse Aide courses, as assigned, for the full duration of the scheduled instruction.
  • Provide quality instruction at all times, teaching classes for the entire class period and properly covering course materials and competencies as specified in course outlines.
  • Teach assigned courses with special attention to Kintura’s mission, and its commitment to residents, and staff member success.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of competency-based education and utilize available educational resources for the improvement of instruction and the creation of teaching materials.
  • Serve as a student Advisor for assigned students.
  • Maintain accurate student and course records.
  • Provide input to the Program Coordinator regarding student outcomes.
  • Enforce academic policy and procedure at all times; counsel students who have academic, attendance, behavior or communication difficulties.
  • Report to the Program Coordinator any issues, concerns, or problems as it relates to the curriculum, instruction or student conduct/behavior.
  • Participate in nursing assistant faculty meetings and other Glenaire activities as requested by the Program Coordinator.
  • At all times, represent the Glenaire and the Nursing Department in a positive and professional manner.
  • Participate in Nurse and Nurse Aide Recruitment activities as assigned by the Program Coordinator.
  • Communicate with the clinical facility staff regarding student experiences in the facility.
  • Select and provide clinical experiences appropriate for a nurse aide student.
  • Assist with the Nurse Aide Career ladder program as needed.
  • Participate in the screening and selection of course applicants.
