About The Position

Performs designated basic patient care and related nursing tasks to provide optimal/quality care consistent with hospital mission and nursing philosophy, goals, standards, and bylaws. Assists the Licensed Nurse in the implementation of nursing care in predictable, uncomplicated, and stable patient situations as directed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Successful completion of an applicable state Board of Nursing Aide I approved training program/competency evaluation
  • Nurse Aide I Registration Division of Facility Services Nurse Aide I Registry
  • American Heart Association BLS

Responsibilities

  • Monitor patients' condition and promptly report any changes, abnormalities, or safety concerns to the licensed nurse
  • Obtain and accurately document vital signs, heights, weights, intake/output, specimens, and other patient care information
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, grooming, toileting, feeding, positioning, mobility, and comfort measures
  • Support patient treatments and delegated nursing tasks, including glucose monitoring, catheter care, heat/cold applications, and other non-sterile procedures
  • Provide one-on-one patient observation and maintain patient safety at all times
  • Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, ambulation, and safe use of mobility equipment and lifts
  • Prepare patients for meals, assist with feeding, monitor dietary intake, and support hydration requirements
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient care environment, including stocking supplies and changing linens
  • Respond promptly to call lights and patient requests
  • Assist with pre-operative, post-operative, and other specialized patient care activities as directed
  • Collaborate effectively with nurses and team members, communicate patient information during shift changes, and support unit operations
  • Deliver exceptional customer service through compassionate, professional, and patient-centered care
  • Participate in staff meetings, required education, and training programs to maintain knowledge and competency
  • Adhere to departmental policies, professional standards, and teamwork expectations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
