About The Position

Saint Therese is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant for its IHM community, with positions in skilled and short-term rehabilitation units. The CNA provides compassionate, hands-on, person-centered care that supports residents’ comfort, dignity, and independence. Working as part of a dedicated care team, the CNA assists with daily living activities, monitors residents’ well-being, responds to their needs, and helps maintain a safe, positive environment. Available schedules include a morning shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., part-time at 56 hours per two-week pay period, and an evening shift from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., full-time at 80 hours per two-week pay period. The schedule includes working every other weekend and every other holiday. Pay is $21.90–$28.51 per hour, based on experience and including the direct care worker incentive. Same Day Pay is available. Saint Therese is a faith-based, nonprofit senior living organization serving communities in Minnesota, Michigan, and Ohio. The IHM community includes independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled care, and transitional care settings.

Requirements

Successfully complete and pass testing for a State-approved Nurse Assistant Training program.
Maintain current certification in good standing through the Michigan Nursing Assistant Registry.
Have working knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations.
Demonstrate strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Be able to carry out assignments independently and accurately.
Demonstrate sound judgment, integrity, and professionalism.
Show sensitivity to residents’ needs, preferences, and abilities.
Commit to compassionate, person-centered customer service.
Be able to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting and transferring residents.

Responsibilities

Provide direct, hands-on care to residents in accordance with individualized care plans.
Monitor and report changes in residents’ physical and emotional condition.
Assist residents with mobility and transfers using approved techniques and equipment, including gait belts and mechanical lifts.
Support residents with daily living activities while preserving dignity, comfort, and independence.
Respond promptly to call lights and resident requests.
Promote a positive, respectful environment for residents, families, and team members.
