About The Position
The Nursing Assistant A OR performs patient care activities based on patients’ age and functional status, along with related non-professional services in the Operating Rooms. The role follows established practices for asepsis, infection control, and safety; supports operating room readiness and turnover; and interacts with coworkers, visitors, and other staff in keeping with the hospital’s core values. The schedule is Thursday through Sunday, 11:15 p.m. to 7:15 a.m. The position is located at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Requirements
- High school graduate.
- Basic Life Support certification.
Responsibilities
- Follow approved techniques and procedures related to asepsis, infection control, and safety.
- Perform Operating Room Nursing Assistant duties, including room setup, patient transportation, equipment retrieval, and room turnover.
- Clean assigned operating rooms between cases, including surfaces, floors, and tables.
- Interact with coworkers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the hospital’s core values.
