About The Position

The Nursing and Health Sciences Tutor provides tutorial assistance to nursing and health science students at all levels and with varying abilities. Tutoring covers nursing and healthcare, mathematics, and various sciences. The role provides individual and group academic support, helps students develop effective study and time-management skills, and works with faculty to support student learning. The tutor also assists with other Center for Student Success (CSS) activities and helps maintain the Center’s cleanliness, orderliness, and security. The position requires professionalism and confidentiality in accordance with FERPA guidelines and promoting a positive image of the College.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Nursing or Biological Science.
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one tutoring and group supplemental instruction workshops in science, nursing, and mathematics.
• Conduct other activities designed to support students in science, nursing, and mathematics.
• Assist students in developing effective study and time-management skills relevant to academic requirements.
• Assess student needs and collaborate with faculty to support the growth and development of student learning across nursing, mathematics, and health science levels.
• Assist with all areas of the Center for Student Success, including tutoring, supplemental instruction, and other responsibilities as needed.
• Participate in College activities as assigned.
• Maintain the cleanliness, orderliness, and security of the Center for Student Success.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality according to FERPA guidelines.
• Promote a positive image of the College to internal and external constituencies.
