About The Position

Corewell Health is offering a $1500 sign-on bonus for new hires for this full-time night opportunity (7pm - 7:30am). This role is on a 35-bed Patient Family Centered Care (PFCC) Rehabilitation Unit designed for patients with intensive therapy needs. Patients on this unit are medically stable, motivated, and able to tolerate three hours of therapy per day, five days a week. The average length of stay is between 12-14 days, and the unit serves as a transitional setting between the hospital and the patient's home. The team includes patients, their families, and other medical and case management professionals, working collaboratively on individualized treatment plans. Taylor Hospital, a Magnet-designated hospital, has been a healthcare leader since 1977, offering specialty services including 24-hour emergency care, wound care, a surgical pavilion, pain management clinic, orthopedic surgery, an inpatient rehabilitation facility, and full-service radiology.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), Required by completion of orientation.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred
  • Current CNA certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assists licensed nursing staff in providing direct patient care and helps in the environmental maintenance of the nursing unit under the direction of the Registered Nurse and within the scope of defined practice.
  • Provides for personal care and safety needs of patients promptly under the supervision of licensed nursing staff including specific procedures and patient testing addressed in the patient plan of care.
  • Maintains an orderly unit environment with sufficient supplies and equipment in order to facilitate staff performance of patient care.
  • Contributes to effective communication as it related to the provision of patient care and the efficient operation needs of the unit.
  • Facilitates the admission, discharge and transfer of patients on and off unit in accordance with established policies and procedures.
