About The Position

Corewell Health is offering a part-time night position for a Nursing Aide on the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit at Taylor Hospital. This unit is a 35-bed Patient Family Centered Care (PFCC) Rehabilitation Unit designed for patients with intensive therapy needs, providing a transitional setting between the hospital and home. The average length of stay is 12-14 days. The ideal candidate will be motivated and able to physically tolerate three hours of therapy per day, five days per week. Taylor Hospital is a Magnet-designated hospital serving the area since 1977, offering various specialty services.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or Equivalent
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), Required by completion of orientation.

Nice To Haves

• Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred
• Current CNA certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Assists licensed nursing staff in providing direct patient care and helps in the environmental maintenance of the nursing unit under the direction of the Registered Nurse and within the scope of defined practice.
• Provides for personal care and safety needs of patients promptly under the supervision of licensed nursing staff including specific procedures and patient testing addressed in the patient plan of care.
• Maintains an orderly unit environment with sufficient supplies and equipment in order to facilitate staff performance of patient care.
• Contributes to effective communication as it related to the provision of patient care and the efficient operation needs of the unit.
• Facilitates the admission, discharge and transfer of patients on and off unit in accordance with established policies and procedures.
