About The Position
The Nursing Resource Pool (NRP) is a dynamic team within Corewell Health, comprising Nurses, Nursing Aides, Desk Secretaries, and Patient Observation Aides. This team functions as the hospital's 'lifeguards,' deploying staff across various units daily to cover short-staffed areas. It offers a unique learning environment for students, exposing them to a wide range of patient care across different units, ensuring a varied and engaging experience. The NRP department values work-life balance and offers schedule flexibility to accommodate personal and family needs. Taylor Hospital, a Magnet-designated facility since 1977, is a healthcare leader providing specialized services including 24-hour emergency care, wound care, a surgical pavilion, pain management clinic, orthopedic surgery, an inpatient rehabilitation facility, and advanced radiology services.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or Equivalent
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), Required by completion of orientation.
- Previous patient care experience in a hospital or nursing home is required.

Responsibilities
- Assists licensed nursing staff in providing direct patient care.
- Helps in the environmental maintenance of the nursing unit under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
- Provides for personal care and safety needs of patients promptly under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
- Maintains an orderly unit environment with sufficient supplies and equipment.
- Contributes to effective communication regarding patient care and unit operations.
- Facilitates the admission, discharge, and transfer of patients on and off the unit.
