Nursing Adjunct Instructor - Clinical Assistant
About The Position
The Nursing Department at Jefferson Community College is seeking part-time adjunct faculty for Clinical Assistant to grow our adjunct pool. This is a pooled search. Jefferson Community College is seeking to develop a pool of qualified applicants to teach clinical in an acute care setting. Adjunct applications will be kept on file for three years to fill part-time teaching vacancies as they occur. The College determines the need for adjunct instructors based on planned courses each term; it is not possible to predict the need for future semesters. When an opening does occur, finalists for adjunct positions are contacted for interviews.
Requirements
- New York State RN license
- Associate's degree in nursing or Bachelor's degree in nursing and significant experience in the medical-surgical setting.
- Applicants must interact and communicate effectively with diverse populations, foster inclusion, and promote equal access and treatment for groups traditionally under-represented in higher education.
- Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S.
Nice To Haves
- A Master's degree in Nursing, or BSN and enrolled in a Master's degree program
- strong communication skills
- computer literacy
- experience in team teaching, mentoring, and curriculum development
- ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds
- ability to integrate critical thinking strategies into the teaching/learning process
- ability to interact with external entities such as clinical sites
