About The Position
At Fennies, we know that great nutrition is a key part of early childhood development. As a Kitchen Assistant, you’ll support our Nursery Chef in preparing balanced, nutritious meals in a safe, high-quality kitchen environment. You’ll support the day-to-day running of the nursery kitchen, helping to create nutritious, balanced meals that support children’s health, development and enjoyment of food. Your role is essential in helping create a safe, enjoyable environment where children can develop healthy eating habits.
Requirements

- Interested in working in a kitchen or catering environment
- A strong team player who enjoys supporting others
- Organised, efficient and able to work in a fast-paced setting
- Committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
- Positive, proactive and willing to learn
- Must complete an enhanced DBS check and provide proof of identity.

Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing fresh, healthy meals and snacks for children each day
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness
- Help with kitchen organisation, cleaning and stock rotation
- Support the Nursery Chef with food preparation and service
- Ensure all allergens and dietary requirements are followed carefully
- Contribute to a smooth and positive mealtime experience for children
