Catholic Nursery Caregiver
About The Position
Regina Caeli Academy is seeking a part-time Nursery Caregiver for their classical and Catholic Nursery space near Kansas City in Overland Park, Kansas. This role involves caring for children aged infant through two years old for 14 hours per week. While a teaching certification or formal teaching experience is not required, the academy will provide all necessary training. The ideal candidate may have experience in homeschooling, working with homeschool children, parish ministry, teaching Religious Education or Catechism, teaching their own children, or teaching in a classical or private school. Applicants must be able to lift at least 30 pounds frequently and stand/walk for extended periods. Regina Caeli Academy is a classical homeschool academy in the Catholic tradition, offering instruction on Mondays and Thursdays. Childcare/nursery is provided for employees. No additional vacation days are given, though accommodations are made for sick days. Applicants must sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church and demonstrate a deep love for the Catholic faith. Curriculum and grading guidelines will be provided, and tutors will be trained in instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards. The ideal applicant will possess strong communication skills, good organization, timeliness, a traditional view of the student/teacher relationship, and must be actively living the Catholic faith, including having received appropriate sacraments. All staff must complete a background check and RCA Safe Child training.
Requirements
- Ability to lift at least 30 pounds on a frequent basis.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended hours throughout the work day.
- Must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church.
- Must have a deep love for the Catholic faith.
- Must be living the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received all the sacraments appropriate to his or her state in life.
- All staff complete a background check and RCA Safe Child training prior to teaching at Regina Caeli Academy.
- Must be willing to prepare for classes at home and come to class prepared to teach in a highly structured environment.
- Must have a clear background check.
