About The Position

Epping Forest Yacht & Country Club is seeking individuals to join their team at one of the most premier places to work in Northeast Florida. This historic property offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where people are considered the greatest asset. The role involves providing a fun and safe environment for members' children, assisting with craft events and programs, and potentially working at the Fitness Center Front Desk and performing locker room checks. The position requires a team player who can act as a leader and role model.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to speak, read, write and comprehend the English language at a level sufficient to communicate effectively with staff.
  • Must be CPR Certified.
  • Must have 6 months experience working with children.
  • Customer service experience necessary.
  • Must have a basic knowledge of how to handle children, to include care, safety and entertainment.
  • Must be creative.
  • Must be a team player that takes initiative.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to work standing on feet for several hours at a time.
  • Must be able to lift, carry and move a minimum of 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to handle playing with many children at one time.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, to include weekends and holidays.
  • Clothing must be in proper taste, crisp, clean, and in good repair, upon entering the property, including wearing name tag.
  • Demeanor must be professional and welcoming.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a fun and safe environment for members' children.
  • Assist in organizing monthly kids craft events and children's events and programs.
  • Administer CPR and first aid as needed.
  • Deliver top-quality service by knowing and using members' and their children's names.
  • Work at the Fitness Center Front Desk and perform locker room checks.
  • Act as a leader and role model to other staff team members.
  • Become proficient on all appropriate equipment and games and their safety features.
  • Ensure all side work is complete before opening.
  • Greet members and their children by name whenever possible.
  • Watch, entertain, and provide a safe environment for the children of members while their parents are exercising, at the pools, Café, Mansion, or playing tennis.
  • Work varied monthly and holiday children's events.
  • Keep the Cubs Den clean, organized, and safe for the children.
  • Check supplies and inform the supervisor of any needs.
  • Have members sign in their children, informing them of the cost per hour.
  • Ring in all Cubs Den charges to the member's numbers.
  • Answer the phone, forward calls, or take detailed messages and deliver to the appropriate person.
  • Learn the Point of Sale (POS) computer system and ring in all sales.
  • Sign in new members.
  • Provide group supervision of campers with attention to program, health, happiness, discipline, cleanliness, safety, routine duties, character, and skill development.
  • Help campers plan, carry out, and evaluate projects and activities.
  • Promote camper participation in all activities.
  • Assist campers with housekeeping chores.
  • Take turns with other counselors for various responsibilities.
  • Teach or assist with camp programs and encourage camper participation.
