Requirements

  • Plant knowledge and understanding
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, coworkers, and your direct manager(s).
  • Ability to demonstrate and set the example for Adams’ culture and values
  • Ability to operate Adams’ point of sale systems
  • Willingness to work collaboratively and communicate with a team of co-workers and managers
  • Exhibit enthusiasm, positivity and/or knowledge about Adams’ products and quality
  • Must be 18 years old
  • Must be able to lift 50-80 lbs.
  • Must be able to operate forklift if certified
  • Must be able to squat, climb and bend
  • Must be able to stand for most of the shift
  • Occasionally ascend/descend a stepstool, stepladder, and/or ladder
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers for duration of shift
  • Communicate with others to exchange information

Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service and assist with plant selection and care questions
  • Maintain a clean, organized nursery yard and keep displays fully stocked with correct signage
  • Monitor product quality and presentation, ensuring healthy plants and accurate packaging
  • Perform general plant care tasks such as watering, weeding, transplanting, and fertilizing
  • Load carts or vehicles for customers and assist with unloading deliveries
  • Operate the cash register and, if assigned, equipment such as forklifts or watering systems
  • Support the team by training new associates and assisting with seasonal tasks, Christmas nursery items
  • Create and follow a daily watering schedule
