About The Position

OhioGuidestone is hiring a part-time Nurse (LPN or RN) for 16 hours per week. The role may require travel to the Berea, Summit, and Medina offices and may involve rotating shifts or sites based on staffing needs. The nurse supports client care through nursing assessments, diagnostic testing, monitoring and reporting vital measurements, carrying out provider orders, maintaining client charts, coordinating medical care, and assisting with referrals. The position also provides education to employees on infectious disease, hepatitis, vital signs, medications, mental health diagnoses, and medications. Applicants must hold a valid Ohio LPN license; an RN license is preferred. The position requires a valid Ohio driver’s license, a safe driving record, and valid insurance, as well as successful completion of required pre-employment screenings.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Valid State of Ohio Licensed Practical Nursing license required.
Valid Ohio driver’s license, safe driving record, and valid insurance.
Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with individuals and groups.
Ability to exercise discretion and sound professional judgment.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities with close attention to detail and work independently.
Ability to maintain relevant, timely documentation.
Computer literacy, including Windows applications, Microsoft Office Suite, and electronic health records.
Ability to access work locations, offices, and homes as necessary, which may require ascending or descending stairs.
Successful completion of pre-employment screenings, including drug testing, background checks, and any other required assessments such as a physical examination and TB test.
Ability to work days, evenings, and/or weekends as needed to meet client needs.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree in Nursing preferred.
Registered Nurse license preferred.
Experience and/or knowledge of mental health and substance use treatment for children, adolescents, and adults preferred.
Outpatient office experience recommended.

Responsibilities

Update and maintain client charts.
Provide diagnostic tests as directed or needed.
Maintain open communication with therapists, program managers, and off-campus programs.
Provide ongoing employee education on infectious disease, hepatitis, vital signs, and medications.
Attend nursing meetings as scheduled.
Carry out orders from doctors and/or nurse practitioners.
Monitor clients’ height, weight, blood pressure, and pulse, and report results to doctors and/or nurse practitioners.
Participate as needed in planning, organizing, and implementing special events, projects, or program changes.
Promote positive leadership, teamwork, and a culture of belonging.
Complete medication prior authorizations and return calls to clients and families before the end of the shift.
Coordinate the medical portion of client care while clients receive services at OhioGuidestone.
Complete nursing assessments for clients.
Assist clients with referrals to health care professionals.
Rotate shifts or work sites as needed to meet staffing needs.
Provide ongoing education on mental health diagnoses and medications.
Represent the agency positively in internal and external interactions.
Be flexible and take on new responsibilities as requested or required.
