About The Position

The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for an identified group of patients. The role demonstrates competency in caring for a primarily adult population in an acute care setting and applies essential functions adapted from the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, 4th Edition (2021). The nurse navigates acute care units within the assigned entity. This position is in the Med Surg Float Pool at Froedtert West Bend Hospital in West Bend, Wisconsin, on the third shift, with every third weekend scheduled. The position is 0.6 FTE.

Requirements

Clinical competence and experience in the care and management of acute care patients.
Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice, normally acquired through completion of education at an accredited School of Nursing sufficient to be eligible for Registered Nurse licensure.
Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certification, or an AHA-approved equivalent, within 90 days of hire.
Any non-BSN nurse with less than one year of licensed Registered Nurse experience must enroll in a BSN or higher nursing degree program. Acceptance into a program is expected within 15 months of hire; the degree must be completed within five years of enrollment, or six years for an MSN, DNP, or PhD in Nursing.

Nice To Haves

A minimum of 12 months of recent inpatient hospital nursing experience is preferred.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
