About The Position

Under the direction of an RN or LPN, the Nurse Technician assists with individualized patient care to help patients achieve their highest level of wellness. The role works cooperatively with others as part of a team, recognizes the importance of group goals, and performs designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks essential to patient care.

This part-time position is at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, Missouri, and is scheduled for 24 hours per week on the day shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and enrollment in an approved or accredited nursing program.
• Before employment, provide student transcripts showing completion of Fundamentals of Nursing at an accredited school of nursing.
• Before employment, provide a competency skills list from the learning institution.
• Remain in good standing with the school of nursing while working in the role; the position is limited to nursing students, and students who leave their program can no longer work as a nurse technician.
• BLS certification is required within one month of hire.
• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods during each shift.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.

Nice To Haves

• EMT, paramedic, or prior patient care experience.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
• Certified Patient Care Tech (CPCT) certification.
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.
• Advanced Unlicensed Assistant (AUA) certification in the state of practice.
