About The Position

Join our 42-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU), where you will work alongside a skilled and compassionate team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. As a Nurse Technician, you will play an important role in supporting nurses and the interdisciplinary care team while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a fast-paced clinical environment. The PCU cares for adult and geriatric patients with a variety of complex medical and surgical conditions, including cardiac patients requiring specialized monitoring and treatment. Team members have the opportunity to learn about advanced patient care, telemetry monitoring, post-surgical recovery, and the management of patients with specialized therapies and invasive lines. Working collaboratively with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals, Nurse Technicians assist with patient care activities, support patient safety initiatives, and contribute to the implementation of individualized care plans. This role provides excellent exposure to progressive and acute care nursing practices while building a strong clinical foundation for future career growth. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of Nurse Aide Program or experience in related field or will provide on the job education and training
  • Basic Life Support or acquire within 3 months of hire

Nice To Haves

  • One year of acute care or one-year long-term care experience preferred
  • Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Participates in Patient Care Team’s delivery of personalized, efficient care with respect for patient’s spiritual and cultural differences.
  • Consider factors related to safety, effectiveness and cost in delivery of patient care.
  • Orients patient and family to room and call bell.
  • Upon admission, obtain initial vital signs, height and weight.
  • Records daily I & O, vital signs, and food intake into the electronic medical record.
  • Transports patients via appropriate means in a safe, dignified manner.
  • Adheres to patient activity restrictions.
  • Establishes positive relationships with patients/families and reports patient/family concerns accurately and concisely to appropriate care team members.
