The candidate will have a paid position, at the time of hire. Candidate will earn a wage while working as a Nurse Tech in our program designed to support and accelerate the skills that are learned in nursing school. MultiCare will provide career planning and opportunities to experience various work settings each term via rotations in different areas of the hospital, based upon interest and unit availability, to assist the Nurse Tech in identifying their ideal work environment. Additionally, MultiCare will supply educational opportunities to advance their career path. Upon graduation, candidate will apply to MultiCare RN Transition to Practice Residency program to transition from student to a professional nurse. Start dates: Continuous hiring every 2 weeks based on open positions. MultiCare is a nicotine free campus, employment with MultiCare is contingent on successfully passing a criminal background check and passing a drug screen.

Requirements

  • Must have completed first term and a clinical rotation of an accredited program.
  • Currently enrolled as a student in accredited school preparing persons to practice as a Registered Nurse and completed at least one academic term which included a clinical component /OR Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current Nursing Technician Registered credential
  • Documentation of current clinical competencies from completed Nursing School course work
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current Health Care Provider level CPR certification

Nice To Haves

  • Hospital specific and float about every 18 weeks between units in which accept Nurse Techs.
  • Upon graduation of Nursing School, candidate is encouraged to apply for RN Transition to Practice Residency positions at MultiCare.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care applying current health concepts and performing routine duties to the level of academic competence accomplished in the individual’s educational program(s) under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse.
  • Contribute to the assigned unit nursing team, functioning as a member of the unit.
  • Remain abreast of current trends/information in nursing and applies this knowledge/ information to practice.
  • Attend required unit meetings/classes.
  • Apply knowledge, judgment, and skills as based upon the principles of biological, physiological, behavioral, and sociological sciences.
