Nurse Technician RN Student - Children's Med Surg Oncology
About The Position
The Nurse Tech performs various patient care activities and related nonprofessional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. The Nurse Tech provides basic patient care and assist with activities of daily living (ADL)s under close supervision of the nurse. Basic patient care and ADLs are defined as: patient bathing, feeding, and preparation for treatment, takes and records vital signs, changes bed linen, prepares treatment trays and other supplies, and assists nursing service personnel with a variety of other patient care duties that they have verified completion of competencies. Relies on establish guidelines to accomplish tasks. The Nurse Tech works under close supervision of the nurse.
Requirements
- Must be an RN student.
- Must be able to perform basic patient care and ADLs.
- Must be able to take and record vital signs.
- Must be able to change bed linen.
- Must be able to prepare treatment trays and other supplies.
- Must have verified completion of competencies for patient care duties.
- Must rely on established guidelines to accomplish tasks.
- Must work under close supervision of the nurse.
