Nurse Technician RN Student - Inpatient Surgical 1 Unit
About The Position
The Nurse Tech performs various patient care activities and related nonprofessional services necessary for the personal needs and comfort of patients. The Nurse Tech provides basic patient care and assists with activities of daily living (ADLs) under the close supervision of a nurse. Basic patient care and ADLs include patient bathing, feeding, preparation for treatment, taking and recording vital signs, changing bed linens, preparing treatment trays and other supplies, and assisting nursing service personnel with a variety of other patient care duties for which competencies have been verified. The role relies on established guidelines to accomplish tasks and operates under the close supervision of a nurse.
Requirements
- Must be an RN student.
- Must be able to perform basic patient care and ADLs.
- Must be able to take and record vital signs.
- Must be able to change bed linen.
- Must be able to prepare treatment trays and other supplies.
- Must have verified completion of competencies for patient care duties.
- Must be able to work under close supervision of a nurse.
- Must rely on established guidelines to accomplish tasks.
