About The Position

This will be a biweekly set of hours with 12 hours one week and 24 hours the following week. The Neuro Critical Care Unit is an Intensive care unit within the Meijer Heart Center at Butterworth hospital. The Neuro ICU is part of the Comprehensive Stroke Center at the Medical Center, and it is West Michigan’s largest stroke center. The unit specializes in the care of patients with stroke or other neurological conditions, including Hemorrhagic stroke, Ischemic stroke, seizures, and Hydrocephalus with critical care needs. Nurses are part of a collaborative team and work alongside nurse techs, intensivists, APPs, pharmacists, therapists, social workers, chaplains, and secretaries to provide specialized care. This team has worked to develop a culture of collaboration, kindness, teamwork, and learning.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days

Nice To Haves

• Experience in direct patient care is preferred

Responsibilities

• acting as a safety attendant for patients
• Ensures that required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner
• Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient within our clinics alongside RN’s/Providers
• Performs basic skills per department guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team
• Collects and reports physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual needs of patients and families in coordination with and as delineated by the RN or Provider
