Nurse Tech Float Pool
About The Position
As a float pool nurse tech, you will float to different areas of Gerber Hospital including the Emergency Department, Med Surg and OB. All of these areas are fast paced and allow our employees the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in a variety of areas. Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider. Performs basic skills per department guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team. Collects and reports physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual needs of patients and families in coordination with and as delineated by the RN or Provider. Responsibilities include taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care, catheterization and acting as a safety attendant for patients. Ensures that required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days
- Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program
- MMR, Varicella, Tdap, and Influenza vaccine requirement if in an on-site or hybrid workplace category.
