Job Summary The Nurse Tech/Assistant – Rehabilitation Unit assists licensed nursing personnel in providing high-quality care to patients undergoing physical and functional rehabilitation. Responsibilities include supporting patients with activities of daily living, assisting with clinical procedures under supervision, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment aligned with the goals of rehabilitation and recovery.

Requirements

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Basic computer literacy and documentation ability
Strong organizational and prioritization skills
Ability to function in high-stress environments and respond to emergencies calmly
Understands patient confidentiality and infection control standards
Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (Required).
De-escalation training (Required or obtained within 30 days of hire).

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or Equivalent including education equivalent to completion of secondary school or demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the role (preferred)
At least six (6) months of experience in an acute care or long-term care facility (Preferred).

Responsibilities

Assists with patient care needs including bathing, grooming, feeding, toileting, repositioning, and ambulation.
Monitors and documents vital signs, intake/output, weight, and patient observations accurately and promptly.
Provides support during admissions, transfers, and discharges; prepares patient rooms and ensures cleanliness and safety.
Aids patients in use of assistive devices and equipment during therapy and mobility activities.
Supports nursing staff with simple treatments such as enemas, hot/cold applications, and specimen collection.
Responds promptly to patient call lights and requests for assistance.
Assists in restraint application and monitoring per policy under RN supervision.
Helps transport patients to therapy sessions, testing, and other departments.
Provides post-mortem care and prepares bodies for transport to the morgue as needed.
Maintains a clean and organized patient care environment and stocks supplies.
