About The Position

Performs selected functions under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse in the Medical Ambulatory Care Unit (MACU) of Erlanger Health Systems. This role is responsible for the direct and indirect care of patients pre and post procedures. The nurse tech 1 must be able to prepare patients for invasive procedures such as cardiac catheterizations, EP studies, radiology procedures, and pulmonary procedures. The employee must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served on the Medical Ambulatory Care Unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status. The employee must be under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Must be able to interpret the appropriate information needed to identify patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs. Must be able to provide the care needed as described in the unit's policy and procedure manual. The employee must be able to provide care for patients pre and post procedures from the cath lab, pulmonary lab, radiology, and other areas of the hospital.

Requirements

  • Will consider a nursing student (RN or LPN) within one year of graduating from an accredited nursing program.
  • Medical background
  • BLS completed prior to going to unit/department and maintained going forward.
