Nurse Tech 1 CCU PRN RN Nursing Student in the last year of Nursing School
About The Position
A nurse tech 1 employed by Erlanger Medical Center is responsible for direct and/or indirect care of the patient. Ability to assess patients, select, develop, implement and evaluate plan of care. Ability to perform procedures and operate equipment necessary for patient care as assigned. The CCU Nurse tech 1 must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in CCU. The CCU nurse tech 1 must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's acute or critical status and interpret and response appropriate to the identified information. As a Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Care Unit must be familiar with the care of a patient with Cardiac Events / MI / Dysrhythmias / Failure / Post PTCA/ Stents / Post Cardiac Caths, and care of patients with Intra-Aortic Balloon pumps. The nurse tech 1 will provide care as needed per described unit's policies and procedures. Ability to assess patients, select, develop, implement and evaluate plan of care. Ability to perform procedures and operate equipment necessary for patient care as assigned.
Requirements
- Will consider a nursing student (RN or LPN) within one year of graduating from an accredited nursing program.
- Knowledge of general nursing principles and practice skills.
- Knowledge of organizational functions, and regulations.
- Knowledge of current trends and new developments.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of nursing, applicable to those areas requiring special education.
- BLS completed prior to going to the unit/department and to be maintained going forward.
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in CCU.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
- Possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's acute or critical status and interpret and response appropriate to the identified information.
