About The Position
This position is dispatched from the Surveyor’s home, is usually only M-F, and has no shift, on-call, direct care, or holiday work. Requirements
- Registered Nurse
- Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in the field of nursing, and/or in the delivery of health care services
- Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Maine, as issued by the State Board of Nursing

Responsibilities
- Lead a team of surveyors as you conduct inspections and investigate complaint allegations in acute-level providers such as hospitals, hospices, ambulatory surgical centers, and others
- Interview complainants and witnesses to obtain information regarding complaint allegations
- Perform record reviews and observations in facilities
- Write reports known as “Statements of Deficiencies,” which outline the rules/regulations that the facility failed to follow
- Assist your team members to ensure Statements of Deficiencies comply with the requirements set by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (“CMS”)
- Participate in training, including mandatory online training required by CMS
- Ensure that facilities comply with both federal and State licensing requirements
