Assumes shift accountability for managing, supervising, and coordinating the operational and financial effectiveness and efficiency of the nursing service/ unit of the hospital. Some service lines may require the ability to be available on call to better support the nursing service/unit. Additionally, Inpatient Supervisors may be required to fill-in for the hospital supervisor as needed. Key responsibilities include assisting with the following: clinical support, unit-based goal setting, program development, fiscal management, resource allocation, standards of care, policy and procedure development and interpretation, performance improvement, performance correction, and coaching and mentoring. Corewell Health Nurse Supervisors are REQUIRED to obtain their nursing administration or professional/specialty certification within 12 months of assuming the role, or within 12 months of achieving eligibility to sit for the exam if not eligible upon hiring into the role.
