Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- An active unrestricted RN license.
Nice To Haves
- 3 years of experience in a substance use and mental health treatment setting
Responsibilities
- Manages daily functions of the medication room to ensure highest quality client care.
- Provides nursing care to assigned patients within the scope of knowledge and ability, and consistent with standards of nursing practice.
- Completes focused alcohol and drug assessments at admission to the program.
- Evaluates care administered by para-professional and non-professional staff, and provides guidance and instruction to improve specific areas of care.
- Assists in development and implementation of policies and procedures.
- Coordinates and assigns direct and indirect care functions fairly and according to capabilities of staff members.
- Serves as Infection Control Nurse for the program.
- Assumes a leadership role as needed during crisis response.
- Oversees daily medication reconciliation process for all assigned patients to properly coordinate care and ensure patient safety, including coordinating with InterCommunity and outside providers.
- Manages Medication Room schedules and completed payroll timely.
- In the event of staff shortage, may be required to cover additional shifts.
- Performs other program and agency duties as required and assigned.
