About The Position

The Nurse Supervisor coordinates the daily operations of the nursing department, including staff scheduling, program planning, resource management, quality improvement, quality patient care, and supervision/development of staff in accordance with all professional, regulatory, and accreditation standards. This role is responsible for off-shift coverage and does not require weekend or holiday work.

Requirements

RN licensure in the State of Ohio
1 year of experience
4 year/Bachelors Degree in Nursing

Responsibilities

Provides leadership through role modeling, mentoring, and coaching.
Collaborates with the manager to recruit, hire, orient, and train new employees.
Demonstrates problem-solving skills by analyzing situations and assessing available resources.
Formulates relationships with all departments to promote teamwork.
Directs department activities in accordance with hospital policies, objectives, and applicable regulations.
Acts as a resource person for patients, families, and hospital and medical staff.
Assists with direct patient care to ensure safe and effective care in urgent and emergent situations.
Demonstrates proficiency in critical nursing skills.
Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by calculating staffing needs based on acuity and emergent situations.
Demonstrates behaviors consistent with Mission and Core Values.
Collaborates with the manager to conduct annual and ongoing appraisal of employee performance, communicating job standards and expectations.
Assists in implementing measures of quality improvement to align with key performance indicators.
