About The Position

The Nurse Supervisor coordinates the daily operations of the nursing department, including staff scheduling, program planning, resource management, quality improvement, quality patient care, and supervision/development of staff in accordance with all professional, regulatory, and accreditation standards. This role is responsible for off-shift coverage and does not require weekend or holiday work.

Requirements

  • RN licensure in the State of Ohio
  • 1 year of experience
  • 4 year/Bachelors Degree in Nursing

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership through role modeling, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Collaborates with the manager to recruit, hire, orient, and train new employees.
  • Demonstrates problem-solving skills by analyzing situations and assessing available resources.
  • Formulates relationships with all departments to promote teamwork.
  • Directs department activities in accordance with hospital policies, objectives, and applicable regulations.
  • Acts as a resource person for patients, families, and hospital and medical staff.
  • Assists with direct patient care to ensure safe and effective care in urgent and emergent situations.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in critical nursing skills.
  • Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by calculating staffing needs based on acuity and emergent situations.
  • Demonstrates behaviors consistent with Mission and Core Values.
  • Collaborates with the manager to conduct annual and ongoing appraisal of employee performance, communicating job standards and expectations.
  • Assists in implementing measures of quality improvement to align with key performance indicators.
