About The Position

This position is located at Maury Correctional Institution in Hookerton, NC. Maury Correctional Institution is a close-custody prison housing male offenders and serves as the hub for healthcare for the male inmate population. The facility is designed to house up to 1,500 offenders. The Nurse Supervisor I is responsible for ensuring professional nursing care and treatment is afforded to patients within medical policies, protocols, and consistent with Board of Nursing requirements. This role involves direct supervision of nursing staff, including scheduling, assignments, orientation, performance improvement evaluations, and clinical competency evaluations. The Nurse Supervisor I supervises, conducts need assessments, develops, implements, and evaluates treatment plans, and provides patient care and education to offenders. The position ensures all policies and procedures are followed and submits short- and long-term goals to Leadership for review and approval. Administrative duties include planning, organizing, and managing daily operations, quality assurance, Human Resource management functions, and staff development. The Nurse Supervisor will develop and maintain effective communication and work relationships with Physicians, upper management healthcare personnel, patients, families, agencies, and others. The Nurse Supervisor I must be able to identify and address quality monitoring and performance improvement issues for the facility. This role may require working any schedule to ensure medical operational needs are met at the facility level.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina
  • Two years of nursing experience

Responsibilities
