About The Position

The Nurse Specialist role is located in the Cardiovascular Rapid Care Center at Highland Park Hospital. This is a Full-Time position requiring 40 hours per week, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The Nurse Specialist will function as a subject matter expert and/or program coordinator in providing nursing care to a diverse patient population, including infants, children, adolescents, and adults. Responsibilities include performing nursing assessments, evaluating patient conditions and follow-up needs, coordinating patient care plans, providing health education to patients and families, collaborating with health team members on problem-solving, and managing patients clinically as directed by a physician.

Requirements

Current professional Nursing Licensure in the State of Illinois required
BSN required
BLS/CPR certification for the Healthcare Provider required
3 years of nursing experience in an office or hospital setting required

Responsibilities

Function as a subject expert and/or program coordinator in providing nursing care to infants, children, adolescents, and/or adults
Provide nursing assessment to patient condition and evaluation of follow-up needs
Coordination of patient plan of care
Provide health education for patient and family
Collaborate on planning/problem-solving solutions with health team members
Clinical management of patients as directed by the physician
