As a Nurse Shift Manager, you'll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in acute care, LTC, or nursing homes adds tremendous value to our nursing team. Every day you will advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential, which aligns with your department's operational goals and objectives. To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable and confident. You're an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. It's also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.

Requirements

  • Associates of Science in Nursing
  • Two (2) years of clinical experience as a registered nurse
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - American Heart Association

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients.
  • Advocate for fellow nurses and support them in reaching their full potential, aligning with department's operational goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with other area supervisors as required to support the hospital's role as a community health service provider.
  • Assist in implementing a unit Quality Management Program consistent with hospital wide Performance Improvement Plan.
  • Operate the units within the financial and productivity guidelines, setting goals and developing policies that support this objective.
  • Provide for quality services by ensuring that the staff are well trained in the services to be provided.
  • Address, escalate or resolve unit issues, including problem resolution related to customer complaints, concerns and suggestions.
