About The Position
The McGuire Group and Absolut Care invite nursing students in their PN2 semester to join their Nurse Shadow Program. This paid opportunity allows students to observe and learn from experienced Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Registered Nurses (RNs) in a clinical environment. Participants will gain valuable insight into the day-to-day responsibilities of nurses while preparing for their future career. The program offers a pay rate of $20.00/hour and flexible hours, focusing on learning by observing nurses deliver exceptional care to residents. This unique opportunity provides invaluable experience and insight into the nursing profession, preparing students for clinical rotations and their future career, with a commitment to helping the next generation of nurses succeed.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in the PN2 semester of a NYS-licensed LPN program and in good academic standing.
- Positive attitude, professionalism, strong teamwork, and customer service mindset.
- No direct patient care required – this is a shadowing role designed for learning.
Responsibilities
- Shadow LPNs and RNs during their daily tasks.
- Observe communication techniques and clinical skills in action.
- Watch how vital signs, such as temperature and blood pressure, are monitored and reported.
- Gain hands-on knowledge by assisting with supplies and learning workflows.
- Build confidence and professionalism in a supportive environment.
