About The Position

This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position in the Surgical Services - Operating Room at the Einstein Philadelphia Campus. This role is at a Level One Trauma Hospital and requires prior trauma experience. The position involves patient and family-centered practice, requiring knowledge of how to convey respect and collaborate with patients, families, and designated care partners in care and care planning. The role also requires cultural awareness, effective communication, patient assessment and care, patient and designated care partner education, medication administration and prescription knowledge, discharge planning, assessment and diagnosis skills, and health information documentation.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
  • BLS - Basic Life Support AHA
  • RN - Licensed Registered Nurse
  • PA - State of Pennsylvania
  • Prior Trauma experience needed

Nice To Haves

  • Operating Room experience preferred
  • BSN or completion of BSN within 3 years of hire strongly preferred
  • Previous experience as an RN in an acute care setting strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Convey respect and collaborate with each patient, family and/or designated care partner in care and care planning.
  • Assess ailments and injuries of patients and implement a treatment plan.
  • Educate patients and their designated care partners on the patient's condition, the treatment and medications suggested and given, and the next steps in the patient's recovery.
  • Administer medications and prescribe drugs for continuing treatment outside of the hospital.
  • Partner with the patient and family/designated care partner(s) in developing a discharge plan and arranging for follow-up care.
  • Explore and analyze reasons behind symptoms and generate resolutions according to available drugs, facilities and techniques.
  • Record medical histories, symptoms, vital signs, medications, diagnoses, treatment plans, procedures, tests, and medical results in written or electronic form.
