About The Position

As our National Resident RN, you will experience a dynamic and supportive residency, receiving personalized attention to foster long-term success and cross-training across our interconnected Nursing units. Every day you will deliver individualized patient care by collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams, administering treatments, monitoring vital signs, and educating patients and families, all while embracing varied nursing tasks. To be successful in this role, you will actively engage in our comprehensive, evidence-based Residency Program, utilizing clinical orientation, practice, and mentorship. You will demonstrate a passion for learning and teamwork within a collaborative, patient-centered environment. St. Joseph’s Medical Center has Nurse Residency positions open in a variety of Medical /Surgical /Telemetry units.

Requirements

  • Associates Of Science degree in Nursing
  • 0-12 months of professional nursing (RN) experience
  • Registered Nurse license in CA (must have by July 15, 2026)
  • Basic Life Support - CPR

  • Deliver excellence in patient care through assessing formulating nursing diagnoses and establishing goals planning and implementing intervention and evaluating patient care outcomes
  • Write reports and procedures and document in the medical record
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers, managers, patients, physicians, family members and the general public
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as weights dosages flow rates proportions percentages and volume
  • Apply concepts such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations
  • Define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Critically think and problem solve
  • Read, write and speak English
  • Complete entire program with a perfect attendance record
  • Work 3 days per week after completing first 12 weeks
  • Work and train on either night or day shifts including holidays
  • Agree to terms and conditions of the program
