About The Position

Performs physical examinations, may perform specialty procedures and provide follow up care of the patient. Performs preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of the physician. Explains and provides specialized education to the patient care. Provides answers to any questions a patient might have. Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs. Records physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition. Credentialed to sedate, circulate and scrub electrophysiology procedures under the direction of the physician, as needed by specialty clinic. Discusses and collaborates care of the patient with Physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan. Submits health care plan and goals of individual patients for periodic review and evaluation by physician. Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures. Has a high level of decision-making skills and autonomy. Refers patients to Physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Meets the requirements determined by the State of Wisconsin or Illinois to perform duties defined as those of a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Specialty, based on area of practice, experience required
  • Valid APNP license in state of practice
  • Valid state RN license in state of practice
  • DEA authorization as needed
  • Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days.
  • Other Certifications per unit requirements: ACLS, PALS, PEARS, NRP
