About The Position
Gateway Regional Medical Center is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our Emergency Services team. You'll work alongside physicians and a tight-knit interdisciplinary team, with the autonomy to assess, diagnose, and treat patients across a wide range of acute and chronic conditions - backed by a collaborative, supportive department. This role is built for an NP who wants real clinical ownership: managing complex cases, making fast, sound decisions, and being a trusted clinical leader in a high-acuity setting.
Requirements
- MSN or DNP from an accredited program
- Current Illinois RN and APRN licensure
- National NP certification in your specialty (FNP, AGACNP, PMHNP, etc.)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or American Red Cross)
- DEA registration and Illinois controlled substance license
- Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills
- Comfort with EMR systems and documentation
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across disciplines
Responsibilities
- Independently and collaboratively manage patient care, from history and physical exam through diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, develop treatment plans, and prescribe medications and therapies
- Partner closely with supervising physicians and the broader care team to deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centered care
- Bring clinical expertise and steady judgment to a fast-moving emergency environment
