Freedom Detox is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and motivated Nurse Practitioner to provide weekend daytime coverage at our Gastonia, NC facility. This role is ideal for a provider who is passionate about helping individuals begin their recovery journey by delivering high-quality medical care in a detoxification setting. As a key member of our clinical team, you will provide patient-centered care, conduct assessments, manage medications, and collaborate with staff to support safe and effective detox treatment.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Active North Carolina Nurse Practitioner license in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in detox, addiction medicine, behavioral health, emergency medicine, or urgent care
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- CPR certification required
Nice To Haves
- ACLS certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations and medical assessments upon admission and throughout treatment
- Develop and implement individualized treatment and care plans
- Prescribe, administer, and monitor medications as appropriate
- Manage withdrawal symptoms and provide ongoing medical oversight during detoxification
- Collaborate with nursing, counseling, and clinical staff to coordinate holistic patient care
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, recovery expectations, and next steps
- Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant medical documentation
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and case reviews
- Respond to urgent medical concerns and provide clinical guidance as needed
