This is a high-volume practice offering a rewarding, team-oriented work environment. The Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive nursing care and medical care as required, assessing the physical and emotional needs of patients and their families. They will plan and ensure the delivery of specific health care services, provide medical treatment and advice, secure case history, perform patient examinations, and interpret diagnostic tests for differential diagnoses. The role involves diagnosing ailments, performing necessary treatment, and referring patients for consultation when needs fall outside their scope of practice. The Nurse Practitioner will prescribe and/or dispense medications per protocol and state licensure limitations, direct and participate in preventive health programs, and adhere to their CVHS contract. They will assist other CVHS health professionals, abide by CVHS Bylaws and Principles of Practice, and maintain high standards of personal and professional behavior. A commitment to continuing professional education is essential to keep medical knowledge and competence at an acceptable level. The role includes providing thorough health maintenance education to patients, participating in quality assurance programs, and consulting with collaborating physicians when necessary. Maintaining complete and orderly medical records, performing administrative, supervisory, and teaching duties as directed, and attending work as scheduled are also key responsibilities. Supporting a team-based approach to patient-centered medical care is expected.
