The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to work under the general direction of the institutional Chief Medical Officer (CMO). This role may involve working at multiple institutions. The Nurse Practitioner will monitor and intervene in the care of chronic illnesses, administer vaccinations, prescribe medications, and treat acute and chronically ill patients. They will also perform routine physical exams, diagnose new conditions, evaluate the need for specialty referrals, and order/review diagnostic tests. The position involves managing medical reclassifications, non-formulary medication requests, and providing routine and emergency medical care to inmate patients. Documentation according to DRC guidelines and ACA standards is required. The Nurse Practitioner will cooperate with medical quality oversight, attend various meetings (institutional, quality improvement, statewide medical leadership), and participate in outpatient call as directed.
