About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner – Employee Health Services is responsible for providing clinical services to Rockingham County employees and contract employees in an ambulatory setting. This role operates within the scope of practice for Nurse Practitioners and in accordance with State and Federal regulations, as well as established standards of care. The Nurse Practitioner supports the health, safety, and wellness of employees through comprehensive occupational health services, including pre-employment examinations, medical surveillance, treatment, and injury and illness management.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (RN)
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
  • Three to five years of Occupational Health experience
  • Current Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) License
  • National Board Certification
  • Current licensure and credentials required by the State of NH to practice as Nurse Practitioner
  • Certification in Occupational Health
  • CPR / Basic Life Support (BLS) certified
  • Mandatory post offer physical and drug testing for new hire
  • Criminal records check required

Responsibilities

  • Conducts pre-placement examinations and medical surveillance, including physical examinations, drug screenings, hearing and vision testing, and other evaluations to determine employees’ fitness for their positions.
  • Provides direct care, including health examinations, medications, immunizations, and treatment of work-related injuries and illnesses.
  • Assesses health status, develops plans of care, orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests, prescribes appropriate treatments, and monitors outcomes.
  • Manages work-related and non-work-related injuries and illnesses, facilitates referrals, and evaluates work restrictions and fitness for duty in collaboration with employees, the Workers’ Compensation Coordinator, employers, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.
  • Participates in preventative screening and immunization programs.
  • Provides health education.
  • Maintains accurate and confidential health records.
  • Contributes to Quality Improvement/QAPI initiatives.
