About The Position

The Cardioscience Nurse Practitioner RN (NP) is an advanced practice nurse with knowledge and skills gained through additional education and experience. The Nurse Practitioner blends an in-depth knowledge of nursing with the legal authority and autonomy to order diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals and performs specific procedures in the management and treatment of patients in the common inpatient acute care cardiovascular environment. This position will provide advanced nursing support and continuity of care for patients with cardiac conditions, with a focus on heart failure. The RN (NP) practices within a framework of evidence-based acute care, holism, health promotion, and disease and injury prevention. The practice involves building partnerships with individuals, families, and communities. This includes: supporting inter-professional collaboration; and participating in continuous improvements through evaluative processes/projects.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years nursing experience in the specific clinical area
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
  • Master of Nursing (MN)
  • Knowledge in research processes and program evaluation
  • Knowledge in conflict resolution techniques
  • Knowledge in community development and facilitation strategies
  • Registered/eligible for registration with the CRNS as RN (NP)
  • Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
  • Upload all relevant documents (ex: certificates, diplomas, proof of enrollment, licenses and/or memberships) relating to the qualifications of the position.
  • Valid Criminal Record Check (CRC) dated within six (6) months and include a vulnerable sector search (required for interview)
