About The Position

Position Summary The Nurse Practitioner (NP) serving as the Left Atrial Appendage (LAA) Program Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the LAA program. This role involves patient education, coordination of care, procedural assistance, follow-up, and quality improvement initiatives to ensure optimal patient outcomes and program success. In a collaboration with the physician(s), assists in all aspects of inpatient/outpatient cardiac procedural care. Maintains expertise in area of practice and applies advanced clinical skills to care for this select patient population. Incorporates advances in technology and procedures into skill set, remains current in practice of electrophysiology. Assists in the evaluation of outcomes and adjustment of practices to ensure optimum delivery of care in a cost-effective manner. Facilitates the coordination and the communication of patient care needs across the health care continuum.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program as determined by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation.
  • Current Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Hold a valid, current New Jersey Physician Assistant licensure.
  • Or Education and Accreditation or a current Registered Professional Nurse and Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program/Masters in Nursing.
  • Current Certification for Advanced Practice Nurses a current Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and Registered Nurse First Assist (RFNA) certification if assisting in OR.
  • Hold a valid, current New Jersey license.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical practice experience in related field.
  • Obtain a New Jersey CDS and federal DEA certificate upon employment if not already covered.
  • Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and creative problem solving.
  • NRP certification, BCLS, PALS
  • Serves on call and weekend as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Willing to train highly motivated individual with interest in Cardiology.
  • Participation in pertinent professional and/or specialty organizations preferred.
