About The Position

As a Nurse Practitioner, your clinical skills and superior customer service in providing medical care lead to a positive, effective patient experience. In this role, you will provide occupational medicine and workers' compensation services, helping employees safely return to work while supporting the health and safety needs of employer partners. The main location for this role will be Batavia; however, the NP may travel to other WorkReady locations as needed.

Requirements

  • MS: Nursing (Required)
  • NP - Nurse Practitioner Certification - NYS Office of Professions
  • RN - Registered Nurse - NYS Office of Professions
  • DOT Medical Examiner certification required upon hire
  • Workers' Compensation enrollment required upon hire

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Occupational Medicine, Workers' Compensation, Orthopedics, Urgent Care and/or Emergency Medicine preferred

Responsibilities

  • Synthesize and interpret history, physical examination and diagnostic testing data; develop a diagnosis, initiate treatment and health maintenance plan; select and order appropriate diagnostic and health maintenance procedures; refer patients to collaborating physicians, specialists and/or appropriate community services or agencies; prescribe medication, perform minor procedures and coordinate treatment for occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Provide health education, instruction, guidance and advisement to patients regarding medication and treatment; counsel patients and family members; recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs; serve as a resource regarding occupational health, injury prevention and return-to-work planning.
  • Perform administrative functions including workers' compensation and insurance documentation, medical discharge documentation, preparing daily billing sheets, providing guidance and teaching to ancillary personnel, and maintaining complete chart entries on patient interactions, orders and progress notes. Ensure compliance with occupational medicine and regulatory documentation requirements.
  • Provide workers' compensation evaluations and follow-up care; perform return-to-work assessments, pre-employment and occupational health examinations; maintain compliance with workers' compensation regulations, employer health requirements and DOT-related services as applicable.
