This Nurse Practitioner role is housed within the Department of Radiology and is dedicated to the Genetics and Personalized Cancer Prevention (GPCP) program, a growing team of more than 10 clinicians. The role provides care to patients seeking cancer genomics risk assessment, genetic testing, and individualized cancer surveillance planning. The Nurse Practitioner follows high-risk patients longitudinally, including patients with pathogenic variants or elevated risk based on personal or family history, as part of a multidisciplinary team focused on prevention, early detection, and precision medicine. A genetics background is not required. The department provides comprehensive training, clinical resources, mentorship, and a Cancer Genomics Risk Assessment Certification Course, offered virtually and fully reimbursed upon successful completion. The program offers clinics at the main campus and Long Island City, with expansion underway to Brooklyn Heights and a Midtown Manhattan flagship site at 575 Lexington. The position will be primarily onsite at the Midtown office. The Nurse Practitioner provides direct patient care and coordination within specialty areas, assesses patients through health histories and physical examinations, and initiates and orders selected therapeutic and diagnostic procedures according to clinical protocols. The role educates and counsels patients, collaborates with physicians and other healthcare providers on treatment plans, and supports the institution’s clinical, educational, and academic mission. Responsibilities may also include teaching and mentorship through institutional training programs, including the WCM PA Program.
