About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants for its detox and residential substance use treatment facility in Fort Collins, Colorado. The clinician provides medical care, medication management, and clinical oversight in a structured detox and residential setting. The role emphasizes patient stabilization, interdisciplinary collaboration, accurate documentation, and regulatory compliance. It is an in-person position on a collaborative team that supports patients in stabilizing, engaging in treatment, and beginning recovery.

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted Colorado Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) license.
• Valid Colorado medical license.
• Active DEA registration.
• Strong clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of experience in substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, psychiatry, or mental health is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct medical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide medical monitoring and medication management in detox and residential care.
• Stabilize patients with substance use disorders to support their engagement in treatment.
• Order and review medications, laboratory tests, and urine drug screens (UDS).
• Document medical care in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Collaborate with medical, clinical, and utilization review (UR) teams.
• Ensure compliance with state regulations and JCAHO, CARF, and ASAM standards.
• Manage daily and weekly patient schedules efficiently.
