About The Position
Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide medical care, medication management, and clinical oversight in its detox and residential substance use disorder treatment facility in Fort Collins, Colorado. The role focuses on patient stabilization, interdisciplinary collaboration, accurate documentation, and regulatory compliance in a structured, supportive environment. Clinicians conduct assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, monitor and manage medications, and work with medical, clinical, and utilization review teams. This is an in-person position in which clinicians are trusted to practice with integrity and compassion as patients stabilize, engage in treatment, and begin recovery.
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) license in Colorado.
- Valid Colorado medical license.
- Active DEA registration.
- Strong clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of experience in substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, psychiatry, or mental health.
Responsibilities
- Conduct medical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide medical monitoring and medication management in detox and residential care.
- Stabilize patients with substance use disorders to support their engagement in treatment.
- Order and review medications, laboratory tests, and urine drug screens (UDS).
- Document all medical care in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Collaborate with medical, clinical, and utilization review (UR) teams.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations, JCAHO, CARF, and ASAM standards.
- Manage daily and weekly patient schedules efficiently.
