About The Position
The Nurse Practitioner provides clinical services and assists physicians within their specific scope of expertise. Makes independent decisions in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Assists and instructs students. Supervises other positions. Provides clinical services for the University Medical Center Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Clinic. Uses independent decision making in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Assists psychiatrists within their specific scope of expertise. Works to improve efficiency, organization, and patient/clinic flow. Assists with day-to-day operations, resolves issues, and contributes to the improvement of quality of care, as well as patient and provider satisfaction. Follows all established clinical procedures and workflows for patient care and communication, privacy/security, and other regulatory requirements. Partners with the enterprise services division of the college, including Health Informatics, Medical Billing, Medical Records and others to ensure patient billing and documentation are complete and accurate.
Requirements
- Nurse Practitioner Certificate
- Two (2) years of nursing experience.
- Registered Nurse (RN) License in the State of Alabama in good standing.
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the area of behavioral/mental health.
- Final candidates must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.
- Final candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment background investigation and information obtained from social media and other internet sources.
