About The Position

Local Infusion is seeking a passionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join their team in Glen Allen, VA. This role focuses on providing direct patient care in an infusion therapy setting, aiming to elevate the standard of care through patient-centered practices and innovative technology. The NP will ensure patients receive the highest quality of care, with opportunities to work autonomously and stay at the forefront of healthcare advancements. The position offers predictable hours, a manageable workload with a consistent 3:1 patient to clinician ratio, and a supportive environment. Key responsibilities include delivering infusions and injections, managing patient communication, coordinating with referring providers, and maintaining clinical inventory. A portion of the role also involves quality and compliance tasks, such as onboarding new Medicare patients, conducting chart audits, providing clinical supervision, and educating patients on preventative health.

Requirements

  • Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Virginia.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in outpatient or infusion-based care.
  • Strong clinical judgment.
  • IV therapy experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
  • Experience with Medicare documentation and quality/compliance processes preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience starting IVs.
  • Experience working with biologic drugs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-person infusion care and support at a Local Infusion center.
  • Occasional travel to other centers for coverage and support.
  • Deliver infusions or injections in accordance with prescribed protocols and guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with patients across all aspects of their care (scheduling, symptoms, inquiries, etc.).
  • Coordinate with referring/prescribing providers to ensure appropriate and effective care.
  • Order and maintain clinical inventory and supplies.
  • Onboard new Medicare patients by conducting establishment calls and completing documentation.
  • Perform chart audits, provide clinical supervision, and ensure compliance across the region.
  • Serve as a resource for patient education, especially for preventative health consultations.
