About The Position
CIMA is seeking a compassionate and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join its internal medicine and cardiology team at its Massapequa, New York practice. The NP will work with physicians and multidisciplinary staff to provide patient-centered care, with a focus on chronic disease management, preventive care, and cardiology. Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in New York State.
- Board certification as an Adult, Family, or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Strong diagnostic, clinical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Nice To Haves
- At least 2 years of experience in internal medicine or cardiology (preferred).
- Proficiency with EMR systems; experience with the specified EMR is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient-centered care, including conducting physical examinations, obtaining medical histories, and diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions.
- Monitor and manage chronic illnesses, including hypertension, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases.
- Assist cardiologists with performing and interpreting diagnostic tests such as EKGs and stress tests.
- Prescribe medications, therapies, and lifestyle modifications tailored to patients’ needs.
- Conduct routine follow-ups to assess patient progress and adjust care plans as needed.
- Educate patients and families about disease management, medications, and lifestyle changes.
- Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay updated on advancements in internal medicine and cardiology.
